More than 2,000 people attended the event held at mass graves in the cemetery of Valencia

Last Sunday was held April 17 the act of homage and relief to victims of Franco buried in mass graves in the cemetery of Valencia. A large number of people accompanied the procession, answering the call of the following organizations: Fòrum per the report of the País Valencià, Social Centre Terra, Maulets, Alerta Solidaria, CNT-AIT Valencia, Workers' Trade Union Coordinating l'Horta (COS), Societat Coral The Micalet, CGT, Comissió of dignitates, PSAN, the País Valencià Esquerra Republicana, Esquerra Anticapitalista, Col • lectiu Antifeixista of València. Also, other associations, groups, organizations, families of reprisals and private individuals, numbering 212, have signed the manifesto unit.

The procession started from the main gate of the cemetery to the tune of "i tabalet dolçaina, who sang lyrics of the song by" Obrint Pas "thirty thousand noucents nou." At the head was a laurel crown worn by the grandchildren of repressed two buried in the graves, until you reach the place of the frightening and regrettable monolith erected by the city, symbolically denied by Valencia and republican flags. Back to the same participants have observed a minute's silence for all victims, only broken at last by the interpretation of the Muixeranga (Hymn of the País Valencià). This hymn, with the rest of tracks laid down has been the subject of municipal ban. The City Council also forbade the Himno de Riego, Alabajos Pau's performance and the entrance to their own graves. This place is likely to be traded by people daily they will remember their dead-in fact had some flowers when the motorcade arrived, but it seems that it is forbidden when, just like laying a wreath and some names to remember those who have occupied for many years. Obviously, and as a conclusion of the event attendees respetuosamen-entered and left you in that chamber, which so worries the authorities, the flowers and the names of men. Pau Alabajos performed "Fosses of silence." After that we proceeded to read the manifesto.

pools "dolçainers i tabaleters" Estrela Benimaclet Red, Buf-Ali of Malvarosa, the Societat Coral The Micalet of Valencia, and the Torrent arrossejat Valencia Tudella musically accompanied some of the different moments of brief but intense action that, once again, has reivindi-cate the existence of these graves. And is that even this, the fact that they are the victims here and the constancy of their number, is accepted in all its dimensions, citizen power, year after year, continues to impede and threaten the organization of the tribute. It is therefore more necessary than ever to remember, the expression of gratitude to those who died for the simple fact of wanting a fairer society, the continued claim to dignify their memory, with all the consequences resulting therefrom.

These graves are proof of a genocide, and despite the prohibitions, are not in silence, although they want to silence. These graves tell us about ourselves and not resign themselves to the eye neutral or indifferent. There remains our recent past, which continues to face the injustices and contradictions of this system liquidationist nominally democratic but everything that bothers you. Of all that it reveals the ultimate nature an authoritarian and subject to the usual powers.

When attendees have spoken aloud names of buried in the graves, there was evidence that these we continue engaging, appealing also to our dignity ciudadana, eso que el poder también quiere arrebatarnos. Un genocidio. Unas fosas.
